Technical Documentation

Technical documentation is the contract between design, fabrication and operations. It turns engineering intent into unambiguous instructions: drawings, notes, specifications and procedures that the shop and site can follow without guesswork. Clear documents reduce rework, raise quality, and speed up approvals.

At FD2P we focus on documentation that is production‑ready and traceable: fabrication drawings with bill of materials and welding notes, and concise reports and procedures that support audits and safe execution.

Fabrication Drawings

Good drawings are the backbone of a build. They translate 3D models into workshop reality with clear dimensions, tolerances, materials, welding, coatings and assembly references. Strong drawing practice removes ambiguity, prevents delays, and enables the supplier to quote and fabricate with confidence.

  • Workshop‑ready details: BOM, sections, weld symbols, preparation and fit‑up notes.
  • Issued with revision control and manufacturing specifications for traceability.
  • Tools we use: SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Reports & Procedures

Calculation reports and operating procedures document that a solution works as intended before you build or operate it. They provide the evidence for strength, stability and safety, and they describe how to execute a task on site—clearly and safely.

  • Structural and lifting calculations with acceptance criteria and results summary.
  • Method statements, ITPs, inspection checklists, and handover documentation.
  • Clear revisioning and sign‑offs for client approval and audit readiness.

Our reports are based on validated inputs (sketches, drawings, models) and demonstrate that equipment does not break, collapse or degrade prematurely under expected loads, while procedures ensure repeatable, safe operations.
